I’m not sure… I ha7e#&n821v;t used solder from a hardware store before.I would assume the join is not soldered correctly if that is happening, regardless of what type solder. If the solder your using is made for copper, (which I have used) it may well be the solder and metal isn’t being heated enough to allow for a solid join.   Thanks for asking though. ; )
